'Grimm' Season 5 Episode 8 Spoilers: Nick & Co. Deal With A Deadly Lake Monster

The events are about to get even more thrilling when the current fifth season of NBC's hit supernatural drama TV series "Grimm" returns this week with a brand new episode that will see Nick and friends following the destructive trail of a mysterious creature from the lake that is said to have claimed the lives of innocent people. Meanwhile, the latest casting report indicates the arrival of two newcomers who will shake things up on the show.

According to the synopsis shared over at The Futon Critic for "A Reptile Dysfunction," the episode will open up with a case that will send Nick and his team back into action as they investigate the tragic death of a tourist at a local nature spot. It is rumored that some type of water creature, similar to the legendary Loch Ness Monster, was the cause of deaths in the area.

In another development, Rosalee will be having some trouble in this episode as her past catches up with her. Who could this person be that Nick's dearest friend is troubled?

Meanwhile, Capt. Renard continues to rally behind someone running for mayor while Nick gets called on by a secret government agency monitoring the supernaturals to give his thoughts on the recent Wesen uprising incident.

In the casting side of things, TVLine reports that "Gilmore Girls" star Keiko Agena has been tapped by the show for a guest-starring role in an upcoming episode which will focus on some big family problems that, as should be expected, the supernaturals are causing.

The 42-year-old will take on the role of a second-generation Japanese-American woman named Madoka Akagi whose teenage son died tragically but her husband believes that it wasn't an accident.

Joining the newcomer is "The Man in the High Castle" actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa who will play as one of the Akagis' family friends. His character, Takeshi Himura, happens to be a lawyer and he will help Madoka get through the mess.

For the meantime, "Grimm" Season 5 Episode 8 premieres Friday, Feb. 5 at 9 p.m. on NBC.
