'GTA 6' News: Female Character to Feature in Multiplayer Gameplay?
"Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6" will feature a female protagonist for the multiplayer gameplay, recent reports indicate.
Dan Houser, the co-author of the game series, has broached the possibility of a lead female character in the future. However, he did not confirm if this will happen in "GTA 6," The Bitbag reports.
"In the future, could we do a game with a lead female character?" said Houser. "Of course, we just haven't found the right game for it yet, but it's one of the things we always think about."
While Ryan Gosling will be the voice of the main character, Neurogadget says Eva Mendes will voice the rumored female protagonist in "GTA 6." Mendes, however, has not yet confirmed her role in the upcoming game. There will be another main character in the game, the report relays.
News about a female character in "GTA 6" has been met positively by female fans. However, the developer has yet to see if breaking the tradition of having male characters in the series will be received well by the rest of the crowd.
"GTA Online" allows users to play a female character. However, gamers are required to play the role of a male character in story mode, N4BB notes.
Among the things that fans can look forward to in the new series is a bigger map for players to explore. This should keep players from getting bored with the same environment. The new map will also feature previous locations including Liberty City, Los Santos, and Vice City, the report details.
Another rumor that has gotten fans excited is the teleportation feature in the new series. If the rumors are to be believed, gamers will be able to teleport from one location to another in the next installment.
"Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6" is slated for a 2018 release. Rockstar Games is expected to reveal more details on the new game in the coming months.
