'Harry Potter' Studio Tour Opens Dursleys' Home to Fans

Good news await for all the fans of the "Harry Potter" series. They now have the chance to go beyond the film and personally see what's inside the home of the Dursleys. According to a report by Mirror UK, the Warner Bros Studio Tour London will open the door of the childhood home of Harry in Number 4 Privet Drive for fans to see the actual set that was used in the "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" movie.

Fans and tourists have only been allowed to take photos of Harry's muggle home from the outside. But with the upcoming opening, they can now experience the magic up close. The source cited that once fans get to step inside through the door of the Dursley home, they will be welcomed with hundreds of letters floating in the air just as how it was in the film. Apparently, these letters were the same ones that were used in the shooting.

Those who have watched the first film in the franchise may recall Harry getting a surge of letters from Hogwarts. And because they're magical mails, they all came flying through the fire place and front door. Fans will get to see these things in the set including the equipment that was used to make the letters flow through the letterbox. However, Harry's sleeping area, the little cupboard under the stairs, is featured elsewhere in the tour so fans will only be seeing a door to it.

Aside from the letters, the original furniture and decors will be showcased as well. Mashable detailed that set decorators filled the house with quirky furniture pieces and ugly sofas, tiles and curtains to match with J.K. Rowling's description in the novel. The costumes of the Dursley family, which include Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon and Dudley, will also be on display. Visitors will also see some of Dudley's ridiculous awards on the wall.

For those who are interested to go and check out the tour, Today noted that Warner Bros. will open it from May 27 to June 6. Tickets will cost £35 ($50) for adults and £27 ($39) for kids. Group rates are also available.
