Henry Cavill Opens up About 'Mature' 19-Year-Old Girlfriend
"Superman" Henry Cavill has opened up about her relationship with his girlfriend Tara King, who is 13 years younger than him.
In an interview with Elle magazine, Henry Cavill said he was nervous when he first met Tara King, a 19-year-old college student at Bristol University. The 32-year-old "Batman v Superman" star admitted that their age gap might be an issue for some, but not for them, People reports.
Cavill and King confirmed their relationship near the end of 2015 and the actor was immediately met with a lot of criticism because of their wide age gap. He said he understands the people's reaction to them but said they are serious with their relationship, the Daily Mail relays.

"People say age is just a number. It's actually real and true sign of someone's maturity," Cavill told Elle. "But in this case, she's fantastic."
Cavill also revealed that he was in the same situation when he was the same age as King's. The actor told Elle that he used to date a 32-year-old woman when he was just 19. He added that the relationship was beneficial and he learned things that he "can't mention in this article," the report relays.
The actor was first spotted with King at a soccer game at the Twickenham Stadium in London in October last year. They have also reportedly spent three holidays together, including their recent trip to New Zealand during King's reading week at school, the report details.
Prior to their New Zealand trip, Cavill brought King to his hometown in Jersey to meet his family. They had also previously traveled to China together, the report adds.
Before he began dating Tara King, Henry Cavill had been linked to several female stars. The "Batman v Superman" actor was previously in an on-and-off relationship with Gina Carano and briefly dated Kaley Cuoco in 2013.
