'Homeland' Season 6 Spoilers: Carrie Back in New York
The upcoming season of "Homeland" is expected to bring its characters to New York.
According to Entertainment Weekly, season 6 of "Homeland" will be set in New York. This will be a big change since the fifth season of "Homeland" took place in Germany, as well as other countries. However, the executive producer of the series, David Nevins, shared some details about the new setting during the Television Critics Association press tour.
He said, "Homeland will be shot next year in New York City, in and around New York. It will be set domestically. It will be set primarily in the New York area, but not exclusively."

Nevins also explained that the new setting is to put focus on the Americas. He added "[After setting the show in] Afghanistan, Pakistan and Europe, [we] wanted to do another America story. Also, I think the actors will be happy to be back in the U.S. For a year. I don't think it's necessarily going to stay there forever, but there was a strong interest in doing a domestic story from the creative team."
With that, fans are speculating that the new setting will open the opportunity to touch on 9/11. Even though the attack happened years ago, it was stated that there is a chance for the series to tackle issues regarding the matter.
Aside from the new setting, fans are also wondering as to who will be returning to "Homeland" season 6. There is still a mystery regarding Quinn's fate after the incident that took place in season 5. With that, fans are curious to know if they will see Quinn on the small screen once again.
The Showtime programming president, Gary Levine, recently shared some interesting details about Quinn. While he did not reveal if Quinn will be surviving, he did say that Quinn is currently severely damaged.
"Homeland" season 6 is expected to release on Showtime this October.
