According to Entertainment Weekly, the executive producer of the series, Pete Nowalk, recently shared some details about the matter. He said, "What happened to the child she was pregnant with? Did this pregnancy alter her marriage with Sam forever? These are the central questions to the rest of this season."
It can be expected that the episodes to come will shed more light on Wes and Annalise's past. However, it was reported that these events will also take a toll on the rest of the group.
Jack Falahee recently spoke to E! Online about how the group will handle the aftermath of Annalise's hospitalization. He explained that the Keating Five will soon be divided in the episodes to come. He said, "Everyone is reacting to Annalise's crazy in very different ways and I think in ways that the audience will find shocking for some. And through that, different leaders begin to emerge within the group. Annalise has been shot, so she's recovering and certain people have to take the reins and the reigns trade hands quite a bit, meanwhile, there are people on the sidelines…it's pretty messy."
