'How To Get Away With Murder' Season 2 Spoilers, Plot Update: Wes' Past Could Be Revealed

Details about Wes and Annalise's relationship will be revealed in the return of "How To Get Away With Murder" Season 2.

The mid season finale episode ended with a literal bang, when Wes, played by Alfred Enoch, was seen shooting Annalise, played by Viola Davis. Initially, Annalise had told him to shoot her in order to cover up for another crime. However, Wes was hesitant to do the deed, until Annalise had confessed that Rebecca had been dead all along.

With that, their relationship takes a turn, an especially intriguing one after Annalise had whispered, "Christophe" right after she was shot. This caused speculations that Annalise could have been Wes' birth mother, since that was the name he was originally given.

The creator of the series Pete Nowalk recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about Wes and Annalise's relationship. He explained, "It's a mess between them. It changes everything. They've always had a very difficult relationship, but I don't see how they recover from this. They both have a lot to recover from. That's going to be hard for them when we come back."

With that, there are rumors that the upcoming season will tell the story of Wes' childhood. These could provide clues as to how Annalise was connected to Wes' past, specifically the suicide of his mother.

While it has yet to be confirmed, Nowalk did share that the upcoming season will finally put an answer to who really killed the Hapstalls. However, it will not be the focus of the upcoming season.

Nowalk also shared that a character will take on a big responsibility in the episode to come. He explained that a lot will be thrown at Laurel Castillo, played by Karla Souza. There are also speculations that her relationship with Frank will finally take a turn for the better.

Fans will just have to wait until Feb. 11 to find out what will happen to their favorite characters.
