Huawei Honor 5X Coming To Europe In February; Specs Include 5.5-Inch Display, 13MP Camera, Snapdragon 615 Chipset

Huawei fans are looking forward to meeting the Honor 5X already. Luckily, they wouldn't have to wait so long as the device is coming out very soon. According to Tech Times, the smartphone is going to be launched in the U.S. by the end of January. In fact, according to GSM Arena, the company is set to release the device to the U.S. market on January 31. But the exciting news doesn't stop there as a schedule for a Europe release has also been set already.

The Huawei Honor 5X is going to make its commercial debut and will come to Europe by early February. GSM Arena detailed that the Chinese company has already listed the device on Vmall, which is a European online store. The price of the smartphone is not revealed yet but the listing did come with a countdown timer for the launch date and it's expected to end on Feb. 4.

Huawei is also making some generous offers as the site detailed that those who will enter their email in the Vmall page will be given a promo code. It will give a discount of £20, €20, or CHF 20, depending on which area the buyer is located at. And for those who are sure to purchase the device, they will receive another promo code that will give a £10, €10, or CHF 10 discount on their next order.

As for the specs of the device, Independent.ie reported that the Huawei Honor 5X will feature a 5.5-inch full HD touchscreen display with 1080p resolution. Under the hood, one will find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset with an octa-core 1.5GHz CPU. It will have two variants—one with 2 GB of RAM and the other with 3 GB of RAM.

The handset will have a built-in storage capacity of 16 GB which can be expanded further via microSD card. It will also be equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera. The power of the smartphone will be coming from a 3,000 mAh battery pack and it will be running on an Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system out of the box. An update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow is expected. It will also come along with a fingerprint reader.
