Huawei Matebook Hybrid Expected To Launch At MWC 2016, Includes Detachable Keyboard And Stylus

The Mobile World Congress 2016 is fast approaching and several tech brands are already all set to introduce their new devices. One of the many companies that is joining the hype is Huawei and reports say that the Chinese multinational company is going to launch the rumored Matebook.

According to a report by Trusted Reviews, an invite of the said device was spotted in a post by Huawei's CEO Yu Chengdong in the Chinese social media site Weibo. It did not reveal much but it showed an image of the phrase that reads, "The new style of business" and also included an image of a stylus.

Below it are the details saying, "Product launch @ MWC 2016 Barcelona." It also specified the time, date and place which is at 2 p.m. on Feb. 21, Central European Time (CET), at Zone 6 of Italian Pavilion, Montjuic Exhibition Centre.

The official details of the device have been kept under wraps but several rumors say that the Matebook is a hybrid Windows device with a detachable keyboard and stylus. There are also some speculations going around that the upcoming device will run both Windows and Android, although, it is said that there's a slim chance that it will have a dual-boot scheme.

Windows Central also reported that leaks indicate a 12.9-inch display and an Intel CPU. But since there are no official details yet, it's recommended to take these reports with a pinch of salt. The company's alleged part laptop, part tablet device is also said to be capable of going up against the Microsoft Surface and the Apple iPad Pro. It's also predicted to be a device designed particularly for business users considering the caption that was tagged to it in the invite teaser.

Aside from the Matebook, Huawei is expected to reveal the other new devices in their line in the MWC 2016, including the Huawei P9 which is rumored to come with 6 GB of RAM.
