Yankees outfielder Ichiro Suzuki was involved in a car crash on Saturday that totaled his vehicle although the player remained uninjured, according to reports.

Ichiro was leaving a preseason game between the Yankees and the Detroit Tigers when his Land Rover struck the car in front of him on the Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa, Florida. Ichiro allegedly hit the car in front of him after being cut off by a female driver attempting to make a left turn.

"The car was turning left and turned into me," Ichiro said through his interpreter, Allen Turner, according to MLB.com. "I slammed on the brakes and couldn't do anything about it, but I had the green light."

While the baseball player's car was allegedly totaled in the crash, the player himself is not expected to miss any scheduled games.

"I almost want my body to kind of feel like I got hit or something," Ichiro said at the Yankee Clubhouse on Sunday morning. "My body just didn't react, I guess. Nothing. I guess you can say that you're going to have to do a lot worse to have me get hurt."

Ichiro participated in his workout at George M. Steinbrenner Field on Sunday and was scheduled for a cautionary physician's visit later in the day.

"I'm under the assumption that he'll be able to play Tuesday," manager Joe Girardi said according to MLB. "We spoke to him last night and he was told to let us know if he had to go to the hospital or was feeling any pain. He never called."
