'Inside Amy Schumer' Season 4 News, Spoilers: EP Talks Liam Neeson Cameo; Julia Louis-Dreyfus Panicked During Season 3 Sketch

The new season of Comedy Central's "Inside Amy Schumer" will feature a slew of celebrity guest stars, including Lena Dunham, Jake Gyllenhaal, Andy Cohen, and Liam Neeson.

In a recent chat with The Hollywood Reporter, executive producer Dan Powell, who co-created the sketch comedy series with its star, actress/stand-up comedian Amy Schumer, said that many of these cameos were cast by Schumer herself via Twitter. In the interview, Powell also spoke about how Schumer's "overexposure" during the previous year affected how they crafted the show's fourth season.

Since wrapping season 3 in 2015, Schumer has earned mainstream fame due to her successful film "Trainwreck," which led to a "Saturday Night Live" hosting, a spot in Barbara Walters' 10 Most Fascinating People of 2015 list, and an HBO special titled "Amy Schumer: Live from the Apollo."

According to Powell, while Schumer's newfound fame assuaged some of his worries about how the sketch comedy will affect the comedian's career, it didn't have much of an impact on their approach to the new season.

Powell also spoke about Neeson's upcoming season 4 cameo, telling THR that he can't wait for viewers to see that particular sketch.

"It's one of my favorites of the season and working with him was a very surreal experience," he said, adding that the "Taken" star couldn't have been a nicer guy.

The "Inside Amy Schumer" boss dropped some details about "Welcome To The Gun Show," the episode in which Neeson appears, saying that it will tackle the issue of gun violence.

"We have a sketch and then a little bit of stand-up and an interview in the wake of the shooting at the 'Trainwreck' screening [last year]," he shared. "Amy met with the victims' families and felt that it was an issue that was important to her."

"Welcome To The Gun Show" could well become one of the series' most viral episodes, up there with season 3 episodes "Cool With It," "12 Angry Men," and "Last F—able Day."

"Last F—able Day," which tackled the issue of Hollywood's double standards, generated millions of YouTube hits and reportedly caused guest star Julia Louis-Dreyfus to have a panic attack during filming.

In an interview for her THR cover story this month, the "Seinfeld" vet revealed that she found herself panicking midway through filming the sketch.

"I started to feel unbelievably paranoid that I was making fun of myself," the actress said, "and wondering, was this really happening to me? Like, how meta is this moment in my life?"

According to Louis-Dreyfus, the experience was a "soul-searching crisis" that made her feel like she was "dying a little bit on the inside."

"Inside Amy Schumer" airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Comedy Central.
