'Inside Out 2' Rumors: Director Teases Sequel for Hit Movie?

Last year was a blast for Pixar after the movie raked in more than $350 million, and while there is no official news about a sequel, it won't come as a surprise if someone pops out of the Pixar executive room and announces part 2.

Fans are already expecting that the movie will be in talks for a sequel anytime soon, especially now that it is on the list of Oscar nominations for this year's Best Animated Feature Film and Best Writing - Original Screenplay.

After the movie's massive success, director Pete Docter said he thought the way people welcomed the movie was really something that blew production's mind away. At the time of the interview, he said there was no sequel discussed yet, though he went on to tease that fans should "Never say never."

This year it seems something may be up in the executive area as rumor has it that the team may be discussing a sequel.

According to Movie News Guide, Docter said in a recent interview, "To me it's not as simple as we liked it, so let's make another one. What happens is you design these characters not so much looks wise but as they are as character and people for a story. So we'll explore it and see what happens."

Since there were not too many details, it is yet unclear if Docter meant that they have started exploring options for "Inside Out 2," but his comments immediately rang around the movie's fanbase.

It should be noted, though, that a lot of sequels have in some way disappointed fans and critics, mainly because the expectations couldn't be topped no matter what magic production does.

In the case of "Inside Out," it is expected that part 2 will exceed expectations far beyond the realms of imagination. This is only possible if Docter and the team will be able to pull off whatever they have in mind to make the installment a hit.
