iOS 10 News and Updates: New Software Will Warn Users When Water is Detected in the Lightning Port

In a new feature released in iOS 10 Beta 3, Apple tests a new feature that will warn users through a message that will pop up when water is detected in the lightning port.

Although many users would consider that a certain device is safe when it is waterproof, there are still parts of the device that will most likely be the primary cause of damage when liquid gets in it. And Apple gives remedy to it through one of iOS 10's new beta feature.

This new feature has been seen on the latest beta version of iOS 10. The feature however, is only functional to iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and iPhone SE users at the moment.

The alert will be prompting users to disconnect any accessories plugged in the device. The alert reads, "Disconnect Lightning accessory. Liquid has been detected in the Lightning connector. To protect your iPhone, disconnect this Lightning accessory and allow the connector to dry," and it clearly emphasizes that the alert might only function when the Lightning is used.

Users may choose to disregard the message by tapping the "Ignore" button, but they will be warned again with another note that says, "Ignoring this message may cause irreparable damage to your iPhone".

Although it is not yet clear how the feature works as a whole, it is definite that it would ensure users in avoiding possible damage to their phone, and as well as possible spending of money in repairing the device if ever damaged.

Aside from liquid detection feature, iOS Beta 3 has also released new changes in the software such as improvements in the vibration and tap tic feedback, and updated lock screen sound and keyboard click sound effect. The Beta 3 also provides users an option to share Activity data. There had also been improvement in the "Rest Finger to Open" option in Accessibilities, and an App Support has also been available on Siri settings.

The new iOS 10 software is said to be released soon with Apple's latest anticipated device, the iPhone 7. The latest software will be bringing new features and improvements for the convenience of Apple users.
