iOS 11 News Update: Secret Features Coming To Apple's New OS

The iOS 11 is almost here and it comes with a whole plethora of new features for the iPhone and iPad. Apple has been promoting its new mobile operating system with emphasis on the upgrades to their devices' existing features.

However, the final version of the OS was leaked. It contains information about an alleged new Apple Watch as well as several significant iOS features.

First off is a QR-code scanner that is integrated to the iOS device's own camera. While not many might find this useful, it does remove the need to download a separate app removing the hassle and saving precious storage.

iOS devices will also be prevented from connecting to spotty Wi-Fi with a new Auto Join Disabled feature. This automatically stops the device from joining networks with lesser signal quality.

Emojis will also never be the same with the iOS 11 with the introduction of "Animojis." Animojis take regular emojis and, using the user's facial features and voices, animates them and can be sent with voice messages.

Speaking of faces, the iPhone 8's dedicated Face ID facial recognition system will replace the Touch ID to unlock the device. Using 3D face-scanning technology, it may also be used to authenticate Apple Pay.

It is also easier to silence never-ending texting streams with the new OS. This can be done by simply swiping to the left to either turn off alerts for that particular thread or to delete it entirely.

The changes are also not limited to the devices themselves as the iOS 11 also has a few features for the AirPods. A new option in the Settings app allows users to set different functions for tapping on each AirPod. In addition to enabling Siri, which is already an existing feature, user can now skip a song, go back one track, and pause audio.

The new OS will be compatible with iPhone 5S, iPad Mini 2, and iPod touch 6th generation. It is expected to be released prior to Apple's newest flagship devices.
