iPad Mini 3 vs. Nexus 9: Which Tablet Will Be Better?
Apple is coming up against Google with the unreleased iPad Mini 3 and Nexus 9. Both companies have not released any official statements about the devices' hardware but there are already multiple speculations about what kind of specs each will be holding.
The Nexus 9 – which is rumored to be made by HTC – will have an 8.9-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with a display resolution of 2048 x 1440 pixels. The Nexus 9 is seemingly moving away from the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets and will instead have the Nvidia Tegra K1 chipset, with a quad-core 2.5GHz processor and a ULP GeForce Kepler GPU.
It will be available in 16GB and 32GB storage variants and will have 2GB of RAM. It will also have microSD card support of up to 128GB and an 8-megapixel camera capable of full HD video recording at 30 frames-per-second. It's also rumored to run on Google's newest mobile OS, Android L (Android 5.0).

The iPad Mini 3 (rumored to be called the iPad Mini Air) on the other hand is scarce on spec details but there are speculations that it will still feature it's 7.9-inch display on a thinner aluminum frame. Screen resolutions may still follow its predecessor but may get an upgrade; an anti-glare coating could also be possible.
As for the specs, the iPad Mini 3 could follow the iPhone 6 in terms of chipset going for the newer 64-bit A8 chip, a dual-core processor and a slightly more powerful PowerVR GPU. Naturally, it would be running the iOS 8 and could get the TouchID fingerprint scanner.
Details on either devices are scarce and have little legibility but there are rumors that Apple and HTC will be holding press conferences this October, where both devices are reportedly going to be announced.
