iPad Pro Release Marks End of the PC Era, Apple CEO Says
The release of the Apple iPad Pro marks the end of the PC era, Apple CEO Tim Cook implied when he spoke in London on Wednesday.
On Monday, the Apple CEO spoke at the Covent Garden store in London and declared the iPad Pro as a replacement for the desktop computer or a notebook. Tim Cook believes that the age of buying a personal computer has come to an end, according to the International Business Times (IBT).
"I think if you're looking at a PC, why would you buy a PC anymore? No really, why would you buy one?" IBT quotes Cook's statement to the Telegraph. "Yes, the iPad Pro is a replacement for a notebook or a desktop for many, many people."

Cook also predicted that when people start using the iPad Pro, they will see that they do not need any other device, save their mobile phones.
Aside from his interview with the Telegraph, Cook also spoke with the Independent and highlighted the most important specs and features of the iPad Pro. The Apple chief told the publication that he had already ditched his laptop computer for the iPad Pro, the report relays.
The 12.9-inch Apple tablet, which will come with a minimum price tag of $799, will be pitted against Microsoft's 2-in-1 Windows 10 devices. Microsoft also offers a lineup of hybrid tablets that also come with a keyboard cover and stylus, The Next Web reports.
The iPad Pro is a powerful device that is able to keep up with some of the laptops available today. It will also be a fitting device for customers who do a lot of sketching and 3D modeling on their computer, the report details.
For now, editing photos and shuffling from one app to another can be done a lot easier on a desktop or laptop computer. So, it remains to be seen if the iPad Pro will indeed compel most people to drop the comfort of having a mouse and keyboard in favor of a 12.9-inch tablet.
Apple's iPad Pro will go on sale on Nov. 11.
