iPhone 7 News, Rumors: Upcoming-Gen Series Could Be The Last Big Upgrade; iPhone 6C To Come Beforehand?
Rumors are still resonating over the release of Apple's next iPhone, the iPhone 7, which, according to those who claim to have knowledge of the issue, will be the last biggest update of the smartphone brand. Meanwhile, the outing of a budget version of the iPhone 6 is still on the loop.
Citing the report from Stuff.co.nz, a top tech analyst announced that the next iPhone could be the last phone from the Cupertino-based tech giant to feature huge upgrades.
The media outlet particularly quoted Daniel Ives, a FBR Capital analyst, who says that the alleged iPhone 7 could be "the last hurrah in terms of blockbuster upgrades."
The reason behind such move, as Ives said, is attributed to the iPhone's immense market success.
"Apple is clearly challenged to enhance product revenue beyond iPhone," the person in question stipulated.
The site went on to mention Constellation Research principal analyst Holger Mueller, who speaks in the same vein with Ives. He said 2016 will be the year when Apple makes the big decision to "innovate around wearables and TV" as well as "flirt with lower prices" on some of its tech products in order for them to acquire other "growth engines" besides the iPhone line.
Meanwhile, a report from Cnet.com indicated that before iPhone 7, the Apple Watch maker might release a more affordable version of the latest-gen iPhone, the iPhone 6C.
Citing Ming-Chi Kuo, a prominent Apple analyst, the media outlet said that there's a high possibility for the company to bring out "a new 4-inch model" which might be called the iPhone 6C. As to which model the purported gizmo will follow in its design remains to be found out. But from what's heard, it will either bear the external blueprints of the aluminum iPhone 5S or the polycarbonate-bodied iPhone 5C.
The iPhone 7 is rumored for a September 2016 launching date while the iPhone 6C might be unveiled in March of next year.
