'iZombie' Season 2 Cast News: Kristen Bell Shares Details On Voice-Acting Gig

In a matter of few days, The CW's hit zombie drama TV series "iZombie" will be returning to the small screens for the second half of its Season 2 with a brand new episode titled "Fifty Shades of Grey Matter."

Spoiler reports indicate that the mid-season premiere will feature the voice-act of "Veronica Mars" star Kristen Bell. The latter, who recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly, shared some details about the episode. According to her, executive producer Rob Thomas called her to do the part of a female erotic writer.

"[Rob] called and said, 'We have an episode where we're investigating a woman who has written erotic novels; are you interested in playing the voice of a woman who has written erotic novels?' Before he finished the sentence, I screamed, 'Yes!'" the 35-year-old told the media outlet.

Both Bell and Thomas are in constant collaboration, the latest of which is for the upcoming episode. However, due to the tight schedules of both parties, their projects together are kind of limited. She did say that lending her voice is "actually less than I would have liked to do." This means that if permitted, the actress would have appeared on the show in flesh.

To cater to Bell's schedule, a separate report from EW indicated that the show made the star do the voice-acting via a phone recording only.

"The funny thing that came about was that Rob was making it very easy for me to accomplish this and said, 'Just record it on your phone, send it to me, we'll lay it into the episode,'" she further revealed to the media outlet.

The synopsis for the aforementioned article, meanwhile, was shared over at The Futon Critic and it says that Liv (Rose McIver) and Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) will be investigating the murder of a young librarian who happens to be a writer of erotic fiction. Meanwhile, Blaine (David Anders) gets caught up with someone. Major (Robert Buckley), on his part, suffers some setbacks with his plan.

"iZombie" Season 2B airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. on The CW.
