'James Bond' Rumors: Daniel Craig Done With 007 Role, Turns Down Offer for Two Films

Daniel Craig is apparently done playing role of the world's most popular spy – James Bond. Although the film franchise reportedly offered the English actor $99 million to reprise his role in a couple of movies, he turned it down; even if he earned millions for the four films he starred.

According to the Daily Mail, MGM wanted him to stay, owing to the fact that with him as 007, the franchise somewhat enjoyed success. The report also said that the film studio even pitched to him the inclusion of endorsements, co-producer credits, and even profit shares. Well, those are more than enough for other actors to immediately sign and embrace.

Craig may actually have turned his back from the most successful spy film franchise in history in as early as last year when he said in one of his interviews that he would rather slash his wrists instead of playing the character for another time after Spectre.

But what's more interesting, according to IGN, is that he claimed he still would be open to doing it once again all for the money. But with the $99 million offer and turning it down in the process, there certainly is a very good reason to turn your back to that kind of money.

Although the 48-year-old owns several of the most successful films in the James Bond franchise, he also happens to be one of the most expensive to play the role. The Daily Mail revealed that he already pocketed £38 million in all four films he appeared as Bond. He first got the role back in 2005 and "Casino Royale" was released a year later. It was followed by "Quantum of Solace," "Skyfall" and most recently, "Spectre."

Other than Bond, Craig's most notable films include "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," "Layer Cake," "Munich" and "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider."
