New casting updates for "Jane the Virgin" Season 3 hint at further complications for the Rogelio-Xo romance. "Six Feet Under" star Justina Machado joined the cast for a recurring role in the upcoming third installment of the CW's dramedy series. She's set to play Darcy Factor, who's described as a formidable, all-business woman who's also a matchmaker.
Her casting call is interesting, to say the least. A controlling matchmaker with a set of stringent rules and procedures to be followed, Rogelio dela Vega (Jaime Camil) goes to seek her help to find a woman in "Jane the Virgin" Season 3. However, Rogelio being Rogelio, he immediately breaks all her rules right away. Unfazed, Darcy doesn't give up on finding the perfect match for Rogelio, and comes up with the ultimate proposition for him.

Machado, who's fresh from her role on USA's "Queen of the South," will be joining "Jane the Virgin" Season 3 alongside newcome Ricardo Chavira ("How to Get Away With Murder," "Desperate Housewives"). Chavira will be playing Xo's ex-boyfriend before she got married, and is foreseen to become Xo's new love interest in the show.
At this rate, things are not looking well for both Rogelio and Xo Villanueva (Andrea Navedo). During the "Jane the Virgin" Season 2 finale, Xo had just found out that she's pregnant, and she's not even sure who's the father. The top contenders are Rogelio, and his archnemesis Esteban Santiago (Keller Wortham). It gets even more complicated taking into consideration that Xo doesn't even want kids, while Rogelio said he wanted children.
Justina Machado's introduction in "Jane the Virgin" Season 3 could mean that Xo was indeed pregnant with Esteban, which would explain why Rogelio wanted to find someone else. Couple that with Chavira's character in place, does this spell the end for a happy ending for Jane's parents?

Meanwhile, it looks like Jane Villanueva is going the route of "The Devil Wears Prada" come "Jane the Virgin" Season 3. People exclusively reported that Kelly Rutherford ("Gossip Girl") will be guest-starring in the upcoming season as a high-profile publisher who hires Jane as her second assistant. She will be appearing in the sixth episode of "Jane the Virgin" Seaosn 3, and is likely to become a recurring character if Jane sticks the landing on this job.
