It was revealed that "Jane the Virgin" season 2 will return from its winter break later than expected. It will premiere with an episode titled "Chapter Thirty One," which will re-introduce a familiar face.
It was revealed that Rita Moreno will be coming back to the small screens to reprise her role as the mother of Rogelio, played by Jaime Camil. Her character, Liliana Dela Vega, will be meeting her grandson for the first time.

The trailer for the upcoming episode was recently revealed by The CW, which showed Jane, played by Gina Rodriguez, bringing her son to Liliana. However, it seemed as though Liliana has some news of her own.
In the trailer, Liliana revealed some surprising news to Jane. She revealed that her grandfather is actually gay and had decided to leave her now that he has found another man.
It seems as though the news will not be taken well by Jane's father, Rogelio. The trailer showed him unable to say grace before dinner.
Aside from Liliana's news, the upcoming midseason premiere is also hinted to focus on Jane's unstable love life. Even though the first season of the series saw Jane tangled up with two men, there are speculations that Jane will encounter another romanctic affair when the series returns.
There are several fans theories that believe that Jane will be getting closer to her professor in the second half of the season. A previous episode of the series introduced her professor as a ruthless individual who did not provide any sympathy regarding her situation. However, the season then saw the progress of their relationship, which is now portrayed as mentor-like.
