Jeremy Lin Free Agency: Top 5 NBA Teams That Could Benefit from Linsanity

A Hornets or a Rockets Return is Possible for Lin

With Jeremy Lin opting to be an unrestricted free agent for the 2017 NBA season, fans are now thinking what team will benefit the most with him on the roster.

The 27-year-old basketball player did not take the $2.2 million player option with the Charlotte Hornets for the next NBA season. He plans to make more money with this move since some teams in the league are looking for a point guard with his skills.

1. Charlotte Hornets

There is a great possibility that the Hornets will attempt to re-sign Lin even though they are dealing with a cap situation that could close any possibility of the player's return to the team.

2. Brooklyn Nets

Rumors of the possible destinations for Lin include the Brooklyn Nets with Hall of Fame Magazine saying that the player's presence in the team would give coach Kenny Atkinson great shooting, passing, defense and stability. Lin would be a vital part of the team as it hopes to enter the playoffs next year.

3. Houston Rockets

Another potential destination for Lin is his former team, the Houston Rockets. The soon-to-be free agent could choose working with Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni, who previously mentored him while he was still with the New York Knicks.

4. Philadelphia 76ers

The point guard could also assist the 76ers in terms of offense and defense. However, Philadelphia could find him a bit more expensive than other players.

5. Chicago Bulls

After the trade of Derrick Rose, the Bulls now need an efficient point guard and Lin could just be the perfect player for that.

The player earlier expressed his plan to exhaust all his possibilities for this free agency. "I've played six years in the NBA; I've played on five different teams. I've played for two D-League teams -- so seven cities in six years. I'm tired of boxes, I'm tired of moving companies, and I want to find a home," he said.

His statistics for the previous season is 11.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2 assists in a period of 26 minutes every game.
