Jeremy Lin News 2015: NBA Player Will Be Good Reserve Point Guard for Charlotte Hornets
Jeremy Lin may not be able to return to his previous level as a star player, but he will be a good reserve point guard for the Charlotte Hornets.
Former New York Knicks player Jeremy Lin shot to stardom when he put out an amazing performance for 25 consecutive games. Now, Charlotte Hornets coach Steve Clifford sees the NBA player as a valuable reserve point guard for their team, according to a Vice Sports report.
"One of the biggest things, the way the league is going, is that he can play two spots," the Post quotes Coach Clifford's statement on Tuesday morning. "So he could both play with [Hornets starting point guard] Kemba [Walker], and then he can play as the point guard…"

Lin had a shot at getting noticed when he was still an undrafted guard and the Knicks' then-coach Mike D'Antoni pulled him out of the D-league amid a losing streak during the 2011-12 NBA season. Surprisingly, Lin made a phenomenal contribution to the game and he quickly set a firestorm on social media.
Later on, he became part of the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers, but his level of performance with the Knicks was not duplicated in the former two teams. Right now, Lin has filled in a vital offensive role with the Hornets and he said he is happy with how things are at present, the report relays.
There was an earlier rumor that Lin could be traded to the Golden State Warriors, and this stemmed from an interview with NY Post in which he revealed that he was thinking about rejoining the said team. However, the talks were immediately squashed when he appeared to find a good fit with the Hornets.
The NBA point guard said he places more importance on being free and being happy to play on the court in a way that he does not feel caged. Now, he said he feels he is free to do things that he is capable of doing.
Jeremy Lin has inked a two-year contract with the Charlotte Hornets worth $4 million. The deal includes a player option for the following year. So far, he is doing very good with an average of 11.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.9 dimes, and 16.47 PER in 22.9 minutes every game.
