Jersey City Approves Permit for 'Jersey Shore' Spin-Off
Jersey City has given the green light to a Jersey Shore spin-off show, permitting producers to film in their city, after Hoboken refused last week.
The show, featuring Jersey Shore's Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley, will be one of the two Jersey Shore spin-offs in the works.
The production company, 495 Productions, will shoot the new show for six weeks, inside a two-story "old firehouse" in the Grove Street Path neighborhood of the city.

Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy told Channel 5's John Huddy he believes show will be a great opportunity to promote the city.
"My view is the more people that see anything about Jersey City and see what we have in Jersey, the better it is for Jersey City," he said.
Jersey City spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill warns, however, that the cast and crew must obey laws and be respectful in their new city.
"The cast and crew of the Jersey Shore spinoff, like everyone else, will be required to follow all the laws of the State of New Jersey and the City of Jersey City, and to show respect for their neighbors," she said.
"Like all other films, there will be a requirement for hired police services paid for by the film company to reduce any impact on the public," Morrill added.
Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer cited public safety and quality of life concerns of Hoboken residents as the reason behind his denial of the permit. Show producers also wish to film around the clock, while filming is currently only permitted in the city until 11 p.m.
He also argued that problems could arise if fans tried to track down the stars down at the filming location, and said too that it could be bad for the city's reputation.
While Jersey Shore has generated huge ratings, it also gained criticism and plenty of negative attention for raunchy, outrageous and drunken behavior.
