Simpson was born in Abilene, Texas on July 10, 1980. The singer went on to start singing in a local Baptist church before joining "The Mickey Mouse Club." Simpson later signed with Columbia Records and released hit songs such as "I Wanna Love You Forever" and "Where You Are" before trying her hand at acting. Today, Simpson is a leading fashion designer as well as a newlywed.

"We are overwhelmed with complete happiness and love having made our commitment," Simpson and Johnson said in a joint statement to People.com on Saturday. "To say 'I do' in front of family, friends, and most importantly, our children has been the happiest moment of our lives."

The pair, who share two-year-old daughter Maxwell and 1-year-old son Ace together, married at Montecito's Ysidro Ranch in front of 275 guests. The bride wore a custom made Carolina Herrera dress with cathedral length veil, Brian Atwood shoes and Neil Lane jewelry.

"It's all about family for us," Simpson told People magazine, in which she Johnson both recounted their romantic wedding day.

The couple's large wedding party included their family members such as Simpson's mother and sister as well as Johnson's father. However, it was the bride and groom's children that stole the show.

"Before I walked out, I kept hearing all the applause, so my kids got standing ovations," Simpson revealed, according to People.

Also noting the bride's entrance, Johnson gushed, "I saw my gorgeous wife coming towards me and she was crying. I think my heart was exploding a little bit."
