Jessica Simpson Wedding: My Kids Got a Standing Ovation, Day Was 'All About Family'

Jessica Simpson is spilling intimate details about her wedding to Eric Johnson over the weekend.

The fashion designer tied the knot on July 5 at Montecito, California's San Ysidro Ranch in front of 275 guests. The bride wore a custom made Carolina Herrera dress, a cathedral length veil, Brian Atwood shoes and Neil Lane jewelry. However, today, even more details about Simpson's wedding day have surfaced.

"It's all about family for us," Simpson told People magazine, in which she Johnson both recounted their romantic wedding day.

In line with the couple's strong connection with family, Simpson asked her mom, Tina, and her sister Ashlee to be her maids of honor. Furthermore, Simpson's father Joe officiated the nondenominational ceremony. Alternately, Johnson's father Stephen served as the groom's best man, while Ashlee's fiancé Evan Ross was one of Johnson's 11 groomsmen. Simpson has 12 bridesmaids total.

Despite the many roles Simpson and Johnson's parents and siblings held, the newlywed's two children, two-year-old Maxwell and 1-year-old Ace, were the highlights of the day.

"Before I walked out, I kept hearing all the applause, so my kids got standing ovations," Simpson revealed, according to People.

Chiming in on the bride's entrance, Johnson gushed, "I saw my gorgeous wife coming towards me and she was crying. I think my heart was exploding a little bit."

Simpson, 33, echoed her husband's sentiments.

"It's so surreal," she said. "This has been something we've wanted ever since we met."

The bride's gold-embroidered gown paired beautifully with Johnson's custom charcoal gray John Varvatos tuxedo. In the months leading up to the lavish wedding, Simpson warned the day would be big.

"It'll definitely be extravagant," she said while on the "Today" show on May 19. "I don't do things small."

In fact, E! News reported that Simpson and Johnson's wedding cost around $1.4 million.
