Joey Feek Update: Rory Reflects On Future Without Joey; Chooses To Count Blessings
Rory Feek, the other half of the country act Joey+Rory, once again stirred the emotions of the public as he went over to his blog site to offer updates on his terminally ill wife, Joey Feek.
For him, it is unbearable to think of the day when he and Indiana have to say goodbye to the singer.
"I cannot even begin to imagine going home to Tennessee without Joey, or living my life and raising Indy without her, but I know that day is coming," he shares on his online journal.
Rory is nonetheless grateful for "all the extra days and weeks that we've been given together" after the doctors broke the news, expecting Joey not make it to Thanksgiving.
Titled "The Power of The Plus-Sign," the father of three shares how they were able to come up with their band name.
"…they asked us what our stage name was going to be," Rory recalled. "I told Joey that I think we should tell them 'Joey+Rory', because that's what it actually was … You + Me = whatever this is going to be."
Little did they know, it was actually God that they added into the equation.
"It was faith that we were adding – a willingness to trust Him and be okay with whatever He had in store. I think that's where the power is," the singer-songwriter revealed.
It is exactly their faith that gives them the courage to face life amidst all the trials that they are currently facing.
It has been reported that Joey had opted to stop receiving chemotherapy after the family were told that the treatment would only give her more time but not the cure she so desperately needs. She is now under hospice care surrounded by family and friends.
Joey was diagnosed in 2014 with stage IV cervical cancer, three months after she gave birth to their daughter, Indy.
