John Lennon's Hair Sold for $35,000
Saturday was a big day for loyal fans of The Beatles as John Lennon's hair — at four inches — has been sold in Dallas, Texas for tens of thousands.
According to CNN, Texas-based Heritage Auctions put up the almost 50-year-old lock of hair for $35,000 and the lucky winner was Paul Fraser, a U.K.-based active buyer of memorabilia from entertainers and personalities around the world.
Garry Shrum, director of music memorabilia at Heritage Auctions said, "This is the largest lock of John Lennon's hair ever offered at auction and this world-record price is a lasting testament to the world's more than 50-year love affair and fascination with Lennon and the Beatles."

Lennon had to have his hair cut for the comedy "How I Won the War" and hairdresser Klaus Baruck was honored with the opportunity to fix the British singer's long locks way back in 1966.
Baruck apparently wanted the world to know that he's going to cut Lennon's hair so he called on the local newspaper to make sure the historical event would never be forgotten. Within 15 minutes, Baruck became remembered as the man who transformed Lennon's mass-adored mop top. He was even asked to guest in a CBS show due to the event that made history in the world of Lennon and his band's fanbase.
While Baruck was lucky enough to touch the music icon's hair, Fraser is another lucky guy for getting not only the lock of Lennon's hair from years back but also two vintage newspapers that discussed how Baruck took over Lennon's transformation for the dark comedy project.
However, it wasn't the lock of his hair that was sold at the highest price tag that night. For $125,000 a sealed copy for the "Yesterday and Today" album cover was taken home by one of the band's fanatics.
The Beatles disbanded in 1970 and since then made their own names in the music industry. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr live to this day, while George Harrison died of lung cancer in 2001 and John Lennon was assassinated in December 1980.
