Kate Middleton News: Duchess Stars in Vogue's 100th Anniversary Cover

The weekend was a blast for high-fashion lovers as Vogue released a couple of images starring the Duchess of Cambridge in her casual clothing.

According to People, the photos were snapped as part of the prominent magazine's 100th year anniversary celebrations and in the cover itself, Princess Kate shows off her dazzling stunning smile in an outfit similar to that of cowboys.

Some of the photos have been displayed at the National Portrait Gallery while the rest of the images can be seen through the issue, which will be available in June. In a statement released by the magazine, production said the pictures taken in Norfolk's English countryside feature the Duchess in "casual clothes rather than adopting a more formal approach."

Taken by photographer Josh Olins, the portraits have acquired significant attention from fashion lovers, celebrities, and fans around the world.

Director of the National Portrait Gallery, Nicholas Cullinan said, "Josh has captured the Duchess exactly as she is - full of life, with a great sense of humor, thoughtful and intelligent, and in fact, very beautiful."

The Telegraph adds that this is the first time Princess Kate has allowed a professional make-up artist to help her prepare for the shoot. Make-up artist Sally Branka successfully created a look for Prince William's wife that made her look more fresh and younger.

This would also be the first time Princess Diana, Prince William and Prince Harry's mother, has been succeeded in her throne as Vogue's cover girl as the late royal has been featured on four covers, including a posthumous image that paid special tribute to the Princess' life two months after her death in 1997.

According to The Daily Mail, Princess Kate isn't new to the camera lights and lenses as she has a love for photography that she has recently shared with the world when she took a photo of his son Prince George as he kissed his then newborn sister Princess Charlotte.
