Katherine Webb Diet Controversy: Model Denies Eating Only 1,100 Calories a Day

Model Katherine Webb has denied eating only 1,120 calories a day in spite of a recent interview, during which she revealed her daily diet tricks.

Miss Alabama for 2012, Webb is better known for her appearance during the broadcast of the 2013 BCS National Championship Game. Webb gained nearly 200,000 followers on her Twitter account of sport's announcer Brent Musburger pointed her out in the crowd, calling her a "lovely lady." Webb was attending the game as the girlfriend of Alabama quarterback A. J. McCarron.

More recently Webb made her debut in the 2014 Sports Illustrated Swim Suit edition. She also did an interview with People magazine for a special edition of their "Most Talked About Bodies" issue. In it, she admitted that she only consumed about 1,120 calories a day.

"The 5'11" model revealed that she eats only about 1,120 calories a day (an average menu: homemade smoothie for breakfast, green apple for snack, spinach salad with almonds and strawberries for lunch, frozen yogurt bar for snack and grilled chicken fingers with sweet potato fries for dinner)," the magazine wrote on May 23rd.

While speaking about her daily regimen, which includes working out three times a week, Web allegedly told the magazine "it's all about self-control."

However Webb's recommended daily intake should be somewhere around 1,800. Her current average intake would put her in a position for "extreme weight loss." Webb also noted that she cuts back even more just before photo shoots, and strictly avoids all carbs.

But the People interview became controversial after being published and now Webb, 24, has insisted that she actually eats more than 1,100 calories a day.

"No way I only eat 1100 cals a day!" she wrote on her Twitter account. "I love chocolate too much!"

During the interview Webb also said that she cheats more often when she is feeling stressed.

"I try my hardest not to stress myself out," she told People. "If I find myself thinking too much about what I eat, then I go crazy.
