Kidman Urban Duet: Watch Couple Sing 'Amazing Grace' (VIDEO)
Nicole Kidman swapped acting for singing alongside her husband Keith Urban at a children's hospital over the weekend.
The Oscar-winning actress joined Urban, the singer and guitarist, on a beautiful rendition of "Amazing Grace" while visiting Monash Children's Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Melbourne, Australia on Friday, June 13. Urban gently strummed the guitar and kicked off the vocals along with a room full of people, including his wife of eight years. Into the second chorus, Kidman offered a gentle solo.
Shortly after the video of the song surfaced online, the clip went viral with many viewers just as shocked and delighted as the patients and NICU staff at Monash Children's Hospital.
"We want to say a huge THANK YOU to Nicole, Keith and Swisse [Wellness, a vitamin company] for lifting up the spirits of some of our most deserving patients, families and staff," the hospital said in a statement on their website on Monday.
The duet in Melbourne arrived just days after Urban's performance at the 2014 CMT Music Awards in Nashville, Tenn. earlier this month. During the event, Kidman and her husband graced the red carpet in Music City with their arms lovingly around one another. Their appearance silenced rumors that suggested trouble in their marriage, including one report that indicated the pair lead "separate lives."
Kidman, who turns 47 this month, donned a white dress decorated with blue beading as she posed beside the "American Idol." The couple's united front in Nashville directly contradicts a report found in the Daily Star where a source indicated that the stars' marriage was on "shaky ground."
"It's clear she didn't want to face questions about her marriage," an insider said after Kidman attended the Cannes Film Festival solo last month. "It seems she and Keith are on shaky ground. Keith didn't appear to want to want to free up one day of his schedule to be with her in Cannes when she needed his support this most."
Nevertheless, Kidman recently shed light on her marriage when revealing that Urban often refers to her as "Hokulani," which means "heavently star," reported InStyle. Kidman and Urban share two daughters together and live primarily in Nashville.
