'Kingdom Hearts III' Release Date Fixed For 2017

Square Enix fans have been expecting "Kingdom Hearts III" to be released within this year, but they might have to wait about one more year before they get their hands on the much-awaited game.

Game director Tetsuya Nomura himself confirmed that the release date of "Kingdom Hearts III" has been pushed back to 2017. Aside from that, he also shared a few details on what fans could expect from the game, according to Parent Herald.

In an interview with Games TM, Nomura teased that "Kingdom Hearts III" will be a lot better compared to its predecessor. He also revealed that the game will have new combat features because of the availability of new hardware, the report relays.

"There have been many bold additions to Kingdom Hearts III in combat and those are only possible because we have access to the better hardware," Nomura told Games TM in the interview. "But it hasn't necessarily been things I couldn't have done then. It's more that I learned from the experiments of the spin-offs."

However, when asked about a new character in the upcoming game, the game director chose to stay mum. He gave a vague answer about something "secret" that they are cooking up. He said he still cannot reveal anything, but guaranteed that there will be something new in that aspect, Day Herald reports.

There are also new speculations about Winnie the Pooh and Tigger appearing in the new game, based on a statement released by voice actor Jim Cummings, who is rumored to have been hired by Square Enix. He revealed that he had fun recording the dialogue for the game, even though he had a bit of difficulty and had to revise the original script, which was in Japanese.

As of now, the exact release date of "Kingdom Hearts III" still remains unconfirmed, although fans can expect it to be out by 2017. They will also have to stay tuned to find out if Winnie the Pooh and Tigger will indeed be part of the upcoming game.
