Lamar Odom Latest Rumors: Former Basketball Star Can Now Walk Unaided

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in the city of Los Angeles suddenly became a frequent media destination, thanks to a high-profile patient named Lamar Odom. The former Los Angeles Lakers start forward is currently recovering in the hospital after an alleged drug and alcohol overdose.

It has been several months now after he was found unconscious and barely breathing in a Nevada brothel, where he was staying for days. Later, media frenzy followed, with all sorts of news and rumors about his actual condition, with questions of whether or not he'll survive and recover. For the first two months, most of the reports said that Odom's recovery hasn't been pretty, with notions that he is in coma, already brain dead, suffered multiple strokes, and the like.

But good news eventually came when sources close to the former All-Star revealed that he is now capable of walking on his own, without assistance or aid. Well, the same sources are saying that even his doctors were surprised when he took three steps unaided.

The news is revealing for two reasons — that most reports are untrue saying that Odom does not have a chance to recover and that his condition may not be that bad after all.

Meanwhile, several other sources are also saying that Odom might even be transferred to the rehabilitation facility sooner than later. Aside from the physical strides, the 36-year-old reportedly made a cognitive leap earlier in the week, though the story about having serious memory lapses is quite true, unfortunately.

It would have been devastating news for his family and friends if Odom failed to show signs of recovery like this one, especially considering the horrible sight last week when he couldn't even remember his own name, though that report wasn't substantiated as well. For now, everyone's just going to have to wait for more positive news coming out of his hospital bed.
