Lamar Odom Now Off Dialysis After Kidneys Improve
Lamar Odom has now been taken off dialysis and moved out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after his kidneys showed surprising improvement.
The former NBA star's kidneys have reportedly been badly damaged following his collapse at a Nevada brothel a few weeks ago. But now, Lamar Odom's previously "shot" kidneys have shown remarkable recovery, prompting doctors to end his six-hour daily dialysis, according to AZ Central.
Previous reports suggested that Odom required a kidney transplant because of the extent of organ damage. His recovery in the last 48 hours is considered a miraculous one, The Hollywood Life (HL) reports.

Odom is currently confined at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and has already been transferred from the ICU. The 35-year-old former basketball star had suffered a dozen strokes during his confinement but is now able to make his own decisions and walk with assistance, the report details.
In an exclusive interview with HL, Los Angeles-based Urology Cancer Specialist top urologist Dr. S. Adam Ramin said Odom's kidneys would most likely be able to achieve full recovery after some time.
"A healthy person like Lamar should regain function normal kidney function and get off dialysis, so he won't be on dialysis for the rest of his life," Dr. Ramin told HL.
Odom is now "more coherent" and is gaining more strength every day, a source told TMZ. However, the nurses are having a bit of difficulty assisting him in walking because of his 6'11" frame.
Meanwhile, Odom's estranged wife Khloe Kardashian has stayed with him since he was hospitalized after his terrifying collapse on Oct. 13. The Kardashian clan has been worried about him and Rob Kardashian had previously offered to donate a kidney to the former NBA star if a transplant was needed.
Lamar Odom's collapse at a brothel in Nevada is suspected to have been caused by drug overdose. Despite the earlier worries about his health, things seem to be looking up for him and he appears to be on a steady journey toward recovery.
