Lamar Odom Transferred to LA, May Undergo Kidney Transplant
Lamar Odom has been transferred to Los Angeles to continue his recovery, but he may need to undergo kidney transplant.
After being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel, Lamar Odom has already taken his first steps at a hospital in Los Angeles and is making "miraculous progress," his aunt JaNean Mercer's publicist Alvina Alston said. However, the former NBA star still has a long road to recovery and may need a transplant for his damaged kidneys, according to the Daily Mail.
On Monday night, Odom came out of the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas and is now admitted at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Less than a week after he was found unresponsive in a hotel, he is now capable of breathing independently and moving his extremities. He also recently passed a swallowing test and can now communicate with his friends and family, CBS Sports reports.

The embattled basketball player will continue his rehabilitation, as he still could not stand up. His recent CT scan showed no complications, but cognitive problems may come up later, the report adds.
Khloe Kardashian, Odom's estranged wife, was with him when he was transported to LA via helicopter. She has not left him since he collapsed on Tuesday.
It was initially suspected that Odom took herbal Viagra and cocaine during the days he stayed at a Nevada brothel, but it was later on revealed that he had taken a speedball. This is an intravenous injection that contains a combination of cocaine and either heroin or methadone. Medics reportedly found a needle mark on the basketball player's arm, as well as various kinds of drugs in his system, the report details.
For now, Lamar Odom seems to be steadily improving day by day. However, he still faces long months of rehabilitation and it is still unclear when he will be able to fully recover from his present condition.
