'Law & Order: SVU' Season 17 Spoilers: Benson, Team Conducts 'Campus-Wide Man-Hunt' Of Sexual Predators
This week, NBC's hit police-procedural drama TV series "Law & Order: SVU" Season 17 will be back on air after its lengthy holiday break.
Titled "Catfishing Teacher," the synopsis for the episode shared over at The Futon Critic indicated that Lieutenant Olivia Benson and her Special Victims Unit will look into a tryst between a high school student and a female teacher that has gone wrong.
A trailer, which was meanwhile streamed over at YouTube, shows a teacher who has been hooking up with one of her students and it seems like she's about to take a shot at yet another kid.
The underage individual appears to be eager for the meeting, but an unfortunate event takes place where he ends up getting kidnapped instead. A mother was also shown to be very distressed over the condition of her missing son.
The clip, meanwhile, featured Benson and her team going over the case, trying to figure it out. It looks like there's something more beneath the surface of the sexual abuse issue. One of the detectives revealed to the officer that there could be two predators running lose on the campus. A manhunt for the perpetrators then ensued.
Will the missing kid be found safe? Will the LAPD be able to pin down the culprits of the heinous crime?
Executive producer Warren Leight revealed earlier to TVGuide that the stakes are about to get even higher for Benson when the show returns to the small screens.
"Olivia has been a little bit distracted or slightly off her game," Leight told the media outlet. "She's doing very good as lieutenant, but she hasn't had a full squad this season. So there's been more and more pressure on her, and she's been making some mistakes."
