'Law & Order: SVU' Season 17 Spoilers: Olivia Benson and Team Look Into Penitentiary Harassment Case
NBC's hit police procedural drama TV series "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" returns this week with the start of the Season 17 two-part finale which will find Olivia Benson and the rest of the SVU facing up against a throng of police officers who wish to defend one of their colleagues from the rape accusations.
According to Carter Matt, veteran actor Brad Garrett will be appearing in the highly-anticipated episode titled "Everybody Loves Raymond" as the Rikers prison officer Gary Munson.
As indicated in the synopsis shared by the media outlet, the SVU will be arresting the corrections officer for charges of sexual assault on female inmates in and out of prison. However, things would not be easy for Benson's (Mariska Hargitay) department to lock down the man as there are those who believe that the accused is innocent.
The promo video for the upcoming episode finds Benson looking quite a bit shocked when she was confronted with a strong opposition from the entire police force that Gary has worked with.
From the look of things, Munson's supporters are quite dead serious on backing him up. In fact, the union might even resort to violence and harassment just to get their message across.
"Someone just tried to kill me!" officer Barba (Raul Esparza) tells his superior in the trailer posted below.
It is interesting to find out what reasons that drove Munson's protectors to go beyond the length for their friend. Could it be that they are trying to cover up some of his evil acts, which if discovered, might implicate them of a more heinous crime happening inside their department?
It could also be that these people are purely clueless to what kind of monster Munson is. At the surface, the character looks like a man who thinks nothing but the welfare of his family and the completion of his duties.
Fans will have to find out for themselves who really Gary Munson when "Law & Order: SVU" Season 17 airs this Wednesday, May 18 at 9 p.m. on NBC.
