'Legend Of Zelda' Wii U Update: Three-Way Split Timeline For Next Iteration

Much to the delight of fans all over the world, Nintendo has finally revealed the release date of its highly anticipated game, "Legend of Zelda" Wii U. According to reports, the latest addition to the popular gaming franchise series will roll out on 2016. What's left now is the question about the game's probable plotline.

The studio, which is also behind the huge success of games like Super Mario, is currently setting the stage for the upcoming release of the new title "Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" HD. To celebrate its coming, the entertainment company is holding special discounts on select titles of the franchise.

To further spread the news, Nintendo distributed newsletters about it and a user of the popular game forum site NeoGaf.com took the initiative to share it to the public.

Apparently, the poster from Nintendo also tells exactly how the new titles are going to be connected with each other.

The gaming mogul introduced what appears to be a three-way split timeline. As further detailed over at BitBag.com, a path branches out from "Ocarina of Time." If the hero is defeated, then the games, "A Link to the Past," "Oracle of Seasons/Oracle of Ages," and "Link's Awakening" follow through.

Two new titles "Tri-Force Heroes" and "A Link Between Worlds" then appear after the aforementioned titles. After the new titles, the timeline stops with "The Legend of Zelda" and "Zelda II."

Meanwhile, a more specific spoiler from MoviePilot.com pointed out a missed detail teased during the November 2015 Nintendo Direct event.

The rather short snippet, which is 13 seconds long, revealed an interesting aspect which a lot of viewers may have missed. The item that MP particularly speaks of is the glowing Sheika eye design in a book that Link carries.

According to the website, the emblem is the symbol of the Sheikah (Shadow Folk) who served as guardians of the Hylian Royal Family. The said organization is featured in lots of Zelda games. Its presence in the new game suggests that they may be more involved in the story in some capacity, or perhaps the whole narrative will revolve around it.
