'Legends of Tomorrow' Anthology Comic Series to Be Launched in March 2016

DC Comics is set to launch a new anthology comic series titled "Legends of Tomorrow" in March next year, which will feature four DC characters.

The "Legends of Tomorrow" anthology comic series is different from DC's television series of exactly the same title. The characters to be featured in the comic include Firestorm, Metamorpho, the Metal Men, and a modern version of Sugar and Spike, according to IGN.

Sugar and Spike, the characters from the 1950's comic strip, will be featured as adult investigators in the DC universe in "Legends of Tomorrow," the report adds.

The writers who will be involved in the upcoming anthology comic series include Keith Giffen and Bilquis Evely for Sugar and Spike, Gerry Conway for Firestorm, Len Wein for Metal Men, and Aaron Lopresti for Metamorpho. The art for the respective characters will be handled by Eduardo Pansica and Rob Hunter, Trevor Scott and Yildiray Cinar, and Lopresti and Matt Banning, the report details.

When the comic series launches next year, each issue will be published alongside The CW series episodes, Comic Book Resources reports.

Sugar and Spike will feature the toddlers from the 1950's comic strip, but this time, they will be adult investigators in the DC universe. Their first mission is to retrieve a set of Batman's retired costumes that Killer Moth had stolen, the report details.

Firestorm will return to Jason Rausch, but he will first have to go back to Professor Stein's lab to get a hold of the Danton Black's stolen research. In this story, Jason will not be able to fuse with Ronnie using the Firestorm Protocol, so fans will have to stay tuned to see if they can come up with a solution to this dilemma.

The Metal Men's story will feature a Dr. Will Magnus' latest robotic creation. A cyberterrorist called Nameless will enter the scene to take on the main characters.

Metamorpho, on the other hand, will be all bout a prisoner being held by industrial mogul Simon Stagg. The latter's daughter Sapphire will be Metamorpho's only hope for an escape but they will have to go through an ancient bodyguard named Java.

The first issue of "Legends of Tomorrow" will come out on Mar. 9, 2016 and will be available for $8.
