Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Specs, Release Date: Lenovo's Yoga Hybrid Line Gets OLED Display

Lenovo's Yoga line of hybrid computers has featured some interesting models, but the latest variant, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga, has two features that make it stand out: an OLED display and a versatility that allows it to be used in four different ways.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga is an ultralight hybrid computer that offers four flexible modes so that users can "present" (with the display twisted backwards, allowing the screen to be used with the keyboard out of the way), "work" (in standard clamshell laptop mode), "connect" (with the display and the keyboard forming a tabletop tent shape), and "create" (with the display folded back 360 degrees to form a tablet shape).

The Ultrabook weighs just 2.8 lbs (1.27 kg) and, as Lenovo claims, is "the world's lightest 14" business 2-in-1."

It features a stunning 14-inch 2560 x 1440 touch-screen OLED display that offers intense colors and deep blacks. OLED or organic light-emitting diode displays are still not widely available in phones, tablets, and other mobile devices. The company claims that the ThinkPad X1 Yoga is the first hybrid PC to be fitted with an OLED screen.

The ThinkPad X1 Yoga comes with a stylus pen for drawing, writing, and annotating. The rechargeable stylus fits into its own dock from where it can be charged. According to Lenovo, 15 seconds of charging gives it more than an hour and a half of regular use.

The hybrid computer comes with Windows 10 Pro OS and is powered by up to 6th gen Intel 7-6600U with vPro.

As with the rest of the products it launched at CES, Lenovo has built the ThinkPad X1 Yoga to stand the test of time. The keyboard is spill-resistant and the keys will automatically retract when the device is not being used in laptop - in this case, "work" - mode. The device has been tested against military specifications and is said to endure the most challenging environments.

According to CNET, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga will be available in the US this month at the starting price of $1449. The website was unable to obtain the price of the OLED model.
