LG G Flex 2 Release Date News: Specs, Features, Price Review

LG first introduced its latest device, the G Flex 2, in Las Vegas during the International 2015 Consumer Electronics Show, and ever since then interested consumers have been nothing if not enthusiastic over what the upcoming phablet has to offer.

The South Korean electronics company showcased its first LG G Flex in 2013, so a successor has definitely been a long time coming. So far it's looking to be a bit of an upgrade over the previous, with the G Flex 2 showcasing a curved, flexible POLED display and a more improved self-healing back that keeps the phone free from marks or scratches in as fast as 10 seconds.

The G Flex 2 also boasts a 5.5-inch display with a 1920x1080 HD resolution. It also has a special protection layer added on top, which LG stated made it stronger than its predecessor and the Gorilla Glass 3 common in other devices.

The G Flex 2 runs on the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop right out of the box and is powered by the 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset. Consumers can also choose between the 2GB RAM for the 16GB model and 3GB RAM for the 32GB model. Both have expandable memories of up to 128GB, so users need not fear of getting more from their device.

It also comes with a 2.1MP front camera and the 13MP rear camera, which comes with LED flash, optical image stabilization, laser autofocus, and video recording of up to 4K resolution. It's also comes with a non-removable 3,000mAh battery, which should give the device a decent battery life.

The G Flex 2 is said to be coming out in South Korea by the end of this month, and may come out in other markets like North America and Europe by the end of February.

During the CES, LG did not announce an estimated price, but the G Flex 2 was made ready for pre-order in Amazon Germany for €599 (around $690). This makes it cheaper than the price of its predecessor when it came out in 2013 and when it was first launched last year. Based on estimates though, the unlocked G Flex 2 may end up being priced around $599.
