LG G3 vs. Nexus 6 Comparison and Review: Old Against Totally New
Google's next flagship smartphone, the Nexus 6, is going to be released soon, with pre-orders on the way. This time Motorola takes control of the helm and it's also called the Nexus X and is codenamed Motorola Shamu. It may seem unfair to compare an older phone with a newer one but how exactly will the Nexus 6 fare against LG's G3 smartphone?
The LG G3 came out earlier this year and it came out with a QHD (2560 x 1440) display, setting a new standard in the smartphone market. Sure enough, other companies like Samsung caught up and released their own device with a QHD display. The same goes for the Nexus 6 since it also possesses a QHD display.
The G3 had a 5.5-inch touchscreen with the QHD resolution display but the Nexus 6 takes it a step forward with a 5.96-inch AMOLED touchscreen. Both phones are well into the phablet realm but the Nexus 6 is clearly bigger.

Looking at the specs, the G3 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with a quad-core 2.5GHz processor, and an Adreno 330 GPU. Two versions of the G3 is available, a 16GB storage variant with 2GB RAM and a 32GB storage variant with 3GB of RAM. Both have microSD support of up to 128GB.
The Nexus 6 on the other hand has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with a quad-core 2.7GHz processor, and an Adreno 420 GPU. It's available in two storage variants, a 32GB and 64GB both with 3GB RAM. Unlike the G3, the Nexus 6 doesn't support microSD cards.
While both phones run on Android, the Nexus 6 comes out of the box with Google's newest Android Lollipop while the G3 is still stuck with the Android 4.4.4 Kitkat. Surely, the G3 will also be getting Android Lollipop but it is still unclear when that will be.
