LG G5 Specs Include Snapdragon 820, 5.3-Inch Display, Rear Dual-Camera

South Korean electronics company LG has finally announced its G5 smartphone. According to a report by AnandTech, LG held the G5 launch event a day before the official start of the Mobile World Congress 2016. And as expected, the device is an improved and re-imagined version of its predecessor, the LG G4.

Gizmodo noted the new device does not come with any of its predecessor's major design elements which indicates that the company really planned to create a completely different smartphone. Its body is covered with pure metal and designed with an aluminum case. It will come in four colors which include Titan, Gold, Silver and Pink. Aside from its exterior, the interior of the device is also solid.

Gadgets 360 detailed that the LG G5 features a 5.3-inch QHD display (1440x2560 pixels). It also boasts the always-on display technology which permits users to check time, notifications and battery status. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 4 GB of RAM. The internal storage is 32 GB which can be expanded further up to 2TB via microSD card slot.

The device has a dual-camera set-up at the rear. One is a 16-megapixel camera while the other one is an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera. The front, on the other hand, is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera. LG G5 will be running with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow topped with LG UX 5.0 and will have a removable 2,800mAh battery.

The battery pack of the G5 is actually smaller than the battery in the G3 and G4. But what makes the G5 unique is its slide-out battery feature which allows users to just swap the battery of the smartphone quickly. Moreover, the smartphone dimensions are 149.4 x 73.9 x 7.7 mm with a weight of 159 grams. It will also have 4G LTE, USB Type-C port, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac.

The LG G5 is expected to be available sometime in April.
