LG G6 Release Date, Specs Rumors and Update: Flagship Reportedly Arriving Early April in the US

LG is expected to unveil a new device during this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC). As fans wait for more news about the flagship, a new report has claimed that the LG G6 is slated to start rolling out in the United States on April 7.

According to Evan Blass' report for Venture Beat, carriers will start releasing the LG G6 on April 7 while South Korean consumers won't have to wait for too long. The device is reportedly releasing in South Korea on March 9.

LG has yet to officially address the new reports from Evan Blass. However, Blass is known for almost always getting his leaks right. On the other hand, consumers are encouraged to wait for official word from the manufacturer before taking new reports and rumors seriously.

Android Headlines notes that if the LG G6 releases on the rumored date, the South Korean manufacturer will get a small opportunity to sell its new flagship. This is because Samsung is not expected to unveil its highly anticipated Galaxy S8 by then. The S8 is speculated to arrive sometime late April.

Samsung and LG are two of the biggest competing smartphone manufacturers. However, the outlet says the LG G6 may lag behind at some point. For one, the Galaxy S8 is rumored to feature the Snapdragon 835, while the G6 is reportedly coming with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 processor.

MIC has gathered the latest specs rumors surrounding the LG G6. One of the hottest features that the upcoming device may feature is an alleged major tweak in design. It is said that the smartphone will come with a thinner body frame.

The LG G6's predecessor featured a modular design. If LG decides to scrap this, fans may be more interested in the rounded edges that the G6 will reportedly come with. However, there is no official confirmation on these reports yet.

The LG G6 is expected to sell at $50 more than its predecessor. The G5 was tagged at $720 when it was released, which means the upcoming device may retail at $770.
