Lily Collins News: Anorexia Comedy "To the Bone" Starrer?

"Mortal Instruments'" (2012) Lily Collins is slated to take the lead role in the Marti Noxon comedy film "To The Bone," a story of a woman's struggles with anorexia. The movie is said to have been inspired by Noxon's own battles against the eating disorder. Although the subject is certainly not seen as a laughing matter, Noxon's first-hand experience with the condition is expected to see the film through with no small amount of sensitivity and humor. "To The Bone" is Noxon's first at the directorial helm.

Noxon has extensive experience as a writer for "Grey's Anatomy," "Private Practice," "Mad Men," "Glee," and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," which she did for some time starting as a story editor in its sophomore season, later rising to showrunner status. She is credited for episodes such as "Beauty and the Beasts."

On Variety, Noxon shared she would direct from her own script. She went on to remark that "'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger' not only applies to the deeply personal subject matter of 'To the Bone,' but to simply getting a film about people with eating disorders made … I'm thrilled to be making my feature directing debut with this troika of fierce women in my corner."

At the end of this month, the film's principal photography sessions will begin. Producing are Julie Lynn and Bonnie Curtis (Mockingbird Pictures), along with Karina Miller financing through Sparkhouse Media which she has started with her husband Talal Alabbar. The Collin-Noxon film will be the Sparhouse's first project.

Collins is no stranger to the big screen. She has starred in several films including "Mirror Mirror" (2012), "The Blind Side" (2009), and "Love, Rosie" (2014).

The actress shared on her Facebook page, "I'm incredibly honored to be part of such a powerful story of love, self-doubt, and the courage it takes to fight for survival. I believe this film has the potential to shine a light on something that's becoming more prevalent within our society every day and let those suffering know they're not alone."
