Lumia 650 Release Date & Rumors: Specs Include 5-Inch Display, Metal Body, 1 GB of RAM

A mid-range device from Microsoft is hot in the rumor mill and fans are wondering how legitimate the device could be. The smartphone, which is dubbed as the Lumia 650 and previously codenamed as Saana, is rumored to be one of the company's upcoming handsets this year 2016. The other one is the Lumia 850.

According to a report by Inferse, leaked images of the said device surfaced from Baidu and it showed a metallic frame attached through the edges. The recently launched Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL only came with polycarbonate materials on their bodies.

The device has not been officially announced yet by Microsoft but as noted in GSM Arena, the company's CMO Chris Capossela indirectly confirmed the existence of the smartphone when he answered a question from ZDNet's Mary Jo Foley during the Windows Weekly podcast. He said that "they had not announced a release date yet." But until everything is made official, it's best to take reports with a grain of salt, including the rumored specs of the device.

It will be built with an internal memory storage having a capacity of 8 GB which can be expanded further via a microSD card slot. As for its camera specs, the Lumia 650 is rumored to carry an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 5-megapixel front camera.

It's also expected to come with features like the Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, Wi-Fi, HD Voice and dual-SIM configurations. Matte White and Matte Black are the color options available. Ecumenical News reported that there's a possibility that the device will be revealed during the CES or MWC.
