'Major Crimes' Season 4 Spoilers: Capt. Raydor Tackles A Crime Of Mistaken Identity
After its lengthy holiday break, TNT's hit police procedural drama TV series "Major Crimes" returns this week for the second half of its Season 4. Taking hints from the spoiler reports, it looks like the members of the LAPD's Major Crimes Division are in for some mind-boggling cases.
To start off, the synopsis shared over at The Futon Critic for the first part of "Hindsight," talked about a young mother with her 3-year-old son who are killed while traversing gang-infested territory.
The investigation reveals that the poor victim just happened to have driven a car that the shooters mistook as the car that their enemy would be driving.
Going deeper into the investigation, Capt. Sharon Raydor and her MCD squad will further find out that the gun used in the killing is connected to a murder committed years ago.
Series creator James Duff told TVLine that there's actually a "huge turf war going on between the Bloods and the Diablos for the street trade in heroin."
The bullet casings retrieved in the crime scene, on the other hand, point out to an unsolved murder that happened 12 years ago of which the weapon in question was missing.
Duff went on to say that the old case involved the death of many people including an off-duty LAPD cop and a deputy district attorney.
Tao's former partner, Mark Hickman, "perjured himself on the stand in an attempt to close the case, and was fired," the showrunner said, according to TVLine. Now that the case is accidentally unearthed, the person in question will take the opportunity to redeem himself.
"It was the case that ended his career and ruined his life, but now that the gun is back out there and someone is using it, he has a very good case," says the EP.
Amy Sykes, on her part, will be heavily involved in this multiple-episode arc.
"We sort of set up that she's capable of doing that last summer. But she does it here in a much bigger way," Duff said.
Find out how these events unfold when "Major Crimes" Season 4B premiere this Monday, Feb. 15 at 9 p.m. on TNT.
