Mamie Gummer Split Confirmed by Actress Rep: 'It's Very Amicable' (VIDEO)

Meryl Streep's daughter Mamie Gumer and her husband of two years have agreed to end their marriage.

Gummer, 29, who is the star of "Emil Owens, M.D." on the CW, dated actor Ben Walker for a year-and-a-half before the couple became engaged in October of 2009. The couple was married in July of 2011 at the home of Meryl Streep.

Reps for both stars had confirmed by Saturday that the couple had plans to end their marriage, although it appears that the two will be leaving on good terms. The split is still "very new," one source told Us Weekly.

"It's very amicable," a representative for Gummer told the magazine. A rep also confirmed the end of the marriage to People magazine.

It is unclear why the couple has decided to split. Gummer has admitted before the keeping up social appearance is more work than it is fun now that she is older.

When Gummer first began to receive social invitations she "thought of those events as a lot of fun and treated them like a giant party," Gummer told The New York Times in 2012. "Now I'm learning this is work."

Gummer added that because of those social appearances, her personal life had begun to resemble more of a business.

"This whole idea of making appearances, it's become a business," Gummer said. "You're vying for people's focus and attention at a time when it seems anybody can get a little bit of fame."

The actress, who had been married to Walker for over a year at that time, added that family was more important to her than fame.

"A lot of people in this business just want to be noticed," Gummer told The Times. "I spend a lot of time with my family trying not to be."
