Man Takes on the Challenge to Run Across All 50 States Before Turning 50

Running five miles is already a torture to some people, especially those who are not that fond of physical activities. However, Brian Stark, the man who is now known as The States Runner, eyes to run across the vast expanse of this country's 50 states. The more shocking news is, he has already completed almost 70 percent of his goal as of this publication date.

In his GoFundMe page, Mr. Stark listed the states he had crossed on foot. These includes Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York, just to name a few.

He still got 16 more states to conquer and according to the ultra marathon runner, he intends to finish what he started before he reached the age of 50.

To offer a perspective of how monumental this goal is, Stark said that each state is often 500 miles across in distance. To get across, this means that he has to run 20 marathons in a row for almost two weeks and doing that 34 times over. In total, he has already covered 9,000 miles of all sorts of tracks.

Oftentimes, his journey would see him alone with his gear and camera. Sometimes, he gets lucky to meet and talk to strangers who, like him, chose to explore the country on foot. Even more so, some kind hearted people would offer him a roof to sleep in and food to fuel him up. There are also families who were also kindhearted enough to wash his outfit. In one instance, Stark recalled, an old woman gave him $1.73 to help him up with his necessities.

In one of his videos, indicated below, Stark can be seen running across the state of Oregon where he encounters all sorts of challenges like the trail, weather and even his wet clothes. Check out his adventure in this clip:
