Cops found the candies during a traffic stop. Upon searching, the police discovered several loads of edibles infused with 100 miligrams of Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC. Parents were warned that the drugged candies are similar to the branded candies in the market, which poses a bigger danger of children mistaking them as pure candies.

Where Did It Come From?

The THC-infused candies were said to be made in Colorado, where it is legal to have medical marijuana. However, it is still illegal to have or transport marijuana products, such as the candies, outside the state.

Sheriff's Department spokeman Major Michael Nunn said that it's the first time that the police have encountered marijuana-infused candies in Florence County. He said that the authorities are doing their best to keep the candies from reaching more people, encouraging parents to report any suspicious candies to the law enforcements.

Effects of Dosage

Even though 10 mg of marijuana is considered a "low dose," many first-time users can experience a dramatic effect upon taking it. This mean that if a child accidentaly takes a marijuana candy, drastic effects may occur, There have been several reported cases of children admitted into hospitals due to marijuana intake.
